Biography
Eduardo Vinicius Kuhn received a B.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Assis Gurgacz University, Cascavel, Brazil, in 2010, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis, Brazil, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. He was a postdoctoral researcher at LINSE–Circuits and Signal Processing Laboratory, UFSC, from July 2015 to June 2017 and from July 2019 to June 2021, and at the National Institute of Scientific Research–Energy, Materials, and Telecommunications Research Centre (INRS-EMT), Montreal, Canada, from January to April 2020, where he worked on adaptive algorithms, performance comparisons, and predictive models. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the National University of Misiones (UNaM), Oberá, Argentina, since March 2025, developing predictive models that integrate physical, chemical, microbiological, and metagenomic data to optimize agricultural soil health. He has been an Adjunct Professor in the Electronic Engineering Department at the Federal University of Technology–Paraná (UTFPR), Toledo, Brazil, since December 2015; a faculty member of the Graduate Program in Biosciences Technologies at UTFPR, since November 2018; and a faculty member of the Graduate Program in Computer Science at the State University of Western Paraná (UNIOESTE), Cascavel, Brazil, since November 2024. He currently serves on the Engineering Area Advisory Committee of the Araucaria Foundation–the state agency that supports scientific and technological development in Paraná–for the 2025–2028 term. His research interests include adaptive filters and algorithms, stochastic modeling, speech and biomedical signal processing, communication systems, artificial intelligence, deep learning, predictive modeling, and bioinformatics.
